About VaughnCo

Vaughn Rowsell has music in his veins. Raised in a musical family in Glovertown, Newfoundland, Vaughn grew up immersed in singing, playing string instruments, and songwriting. In the early 1990s, he established his own recording studio in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where he spent more than a decade producing albums for local artists, creating a wide range of radio advertising jingles, and producing most of his father Fred Rowsell’s (known professionally as Bobby Evans) albums between 1990 and 1998. During this period, Vaughn also co-wrote songs recorded by his father, laying an early foundation as both a producer and songwriter.

In 2000, Vaughn formed his band, The Cobblestones, and toured extensively across Canada performing alongside his father. Vaughn served as the band’s lead singer and co-writer, contributing to the writing of many of the band’s original songs, and produced all of its recordings using his own studio facilities. He independently handled all aspects of promoting the band’s tours, overseeing booking, marketing, and live event logistics—experience that would later shape his career in the concert promotion business.

Alongside his music production work, Vaughn’s technical expertise expanded into television, documentary, and dramatic programming. He worked extensively as a location sound recordist for productions airing on networks such as CBC and Discovery Channel, and also mixed audio for television programming, including projects for Animal Planet and other broadcast networks.

In 2008, Vaughn co-founded 5th String Entertainment, formally entering the concert promotion business. Through the company, he helped bring major country acts to stages in St. John’s, Newfoundland, including Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, and Vince Gill, while also presenting select artists—including Alan Jackson and Toby Keith—to venues throughout Atlantic Canada.

In 2016, Vaughn founded VaughnCo Entertainment Inc., continuing to promote country acts while diversifying the company’s operations across Canada. VaughnCo expanded its programming to include concerts, family and children’s entertainment, and high-quality tribute productions, presenting major touring attractions such as Stars on Ice and the Harlem Globetrotters. In January of this year, Vaughn further extended the company’s footprint internationally with the launch of VaughnCo Entertainment USA.

In addition to live events, Vaughn is the founder of VaughnCo Music Publishing, where his lifelong experience as a songwriter, producer, and promoter converges. The company represents a growing catalog of commercially successful country music, including “Last Cowboy Standing” by David Adam Burns, a No. 1 Texas hit, “Georgia Girl” by Megan Moroney, featured on her gold-certified album Lucky, and “Cowgirl” by Parmalee, which became a No. 1 country song across the United States. With a career spanning songwriting, performance, production, publishing, and concert promotion, Vaughn continues to bridge the creative and business sides of the music industry across Canada and beyond.
